Alex Wolf Lewis is a director and DP based in New York City and Portland, Maine. As a director, credits include, Snowy (Sundance 2021, Critics’ Choice Nominee, DOCNYC Shortlist, Vimeo Staff Pick, Time Studios), Single Room Occupancy (co-directed) (SIFF 2016, Big Sky 2017, Short of The Week) and Hildegarde’s Piano (Rooftop Film Festival 2019).

As a DP, he has travelled the world for work, shooting for Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, Vice, Netflix, HBO, CNN, PBS, A&E, Discovery, as well as a number of shorts and features, including Laura Poitras’ All The Beauty and The Bloodshed (Oscar and BAFTA nomination for Best Feature Documentary, Golden Lion Venice Film Festival ‘22, TIFF ‘22, NYFF ‘22) . DP Credits include: United Shades Of America, (CNN), Well Groomed (HBO Sports, SXSW 2019, Hot Docs 2019), narrative feature, Swallowed, dir. Carter Smith, (U.S. Narrative Feature Grand Jury Prize Newfest ‘22, Overlook ‘22, Fantasia ‘22) and 2nd Unit DP on the narrative feature Critical Thinking, dir. John Leguizamo, (SXSW 2020). When not making films, he volunteers as an EMT for the town of Falmouth, Maine. 

Alex is currently in production on a feature documentary about wastewater and in development on a doc series.

H.E.A.T Certified (Hostile Environment Awareness Training). Licensed E.M.T in the State of Maine. Fluent in Italian. F.A.A. Part 107 Certified Drone Operator.
